if you need to put pictures of chicks on the inside of your hood to make it through the day at work,  that isnt going to last.... not the girl, the job..... i lasted 2 days! production welding is the worst thing i have ever done in my entire life... 12 hour days of the same wah all day long, my ass actually hurts from sitting all day. never experienced that my entire life and i just had knee surgery! unreal

I am currently helping Rupp put together some books of his paintings and drawings he had done in the distant past and recent past to help catalog and create an archives of some of the projects he as worked on....

a long story short, while flipping through one of his sketchbooks, i found this.... if you dont know im not going to tell you, but it is funny how a a couple of sentences about a wizard and unicorn fighting a dragon make there was from words to the sketchbook and then to the......

it is done..... well kind of

so it is done..... and you can get it here..... all the text for the pacific coast book is hand written in so if you want me to write in your book you have to send it to me.... if you dont want me to write in it, i guess you could just make up some story for why you have a book with just a bunch of amazing photographs..... but if the quote about how much a photo is worth is true, then it would consist of about 196,000 words..... maybe i don't need to write in it after all........

i drew this the day after i blew my knee up. i think today was the first time a actually didn't think about taking that warm bath because after 100 honest hours of scanning and editing i am ready to start putting the pacific coast book together...... following is a sample cover i was thinkin about.....

after being frustrated with not being able to convey my thoughts, feelings, and ideas with my current skill level of water coloring, i decided to watch some online tutorials.... i can already feel a difference and my  confidence level has never been this high in my life.... thank you catherine hillis!

the cactus

I see this cactus everyday. so i decided to paint it.
 

the challenge.....

this all started when eric and myself were drawing and painting the other day and he said that this painting of this octopus and submarine was better than the drawing he did of this hanus 50 year old dood's (named mouse) cat, fingus.... if you know this mouse man, you would already agree with me that just out of context this is a better drawing....... this dood has these pants with this hole in the knee that when he sits down, his whole thigh all the way down to his ankle is exposed..... yeah i know. he even went as far as putting mouse's famous quote on the piece.

so now i guess kalen, because he is the only one who actually sees this rubish, will have to let eric know that he won and to collect his teaching position from the arizona state university art department... congratulations!!!!

                                                

doing work.......

this is to show all of you that i have been productive during my recovery and actually trying to finish this book in a reasonable time.... before 2012 at least because that is when the world is going to end and i don't know how many carry-ons one is allowed on the ship to the new planet.

i messed up, so i made it a diptych.........

going to art school i should have known that the composition of the left panel was weak and not going to work. so i fixed it. i also meant to make the arms black to show you what all these "cool people" with their sweet tatty sleeves will look like in a few years...  that is a lie i wanted them to be just white boy arms but the pen ink bleed... that was just the best reason i could have thought of beside the whole michael jackson skin thing....

pacific coast polaroids

the other day i received a nice personalized package from Mr. Dawson which contained about 70+ polaroids from our journey down the coast. I completely forgot about some of the experiences we had on this adventure.... the story of the bull (a christian comic we found in a bathroom floor about a prisoner who find jesus after he kills a bunch of doods because their girlfriends wouldn't smuggle heroin), the wild beavers (our gang with kids from oregon.... get it) the mountain man rendezvous (which is where you bring all the things you have found while on your adventure and trade them with others hosted by larry), and the low tech lace ups(the name larry came up with for us who didn't have a bunch of electronics or fancy clip-less shoes)........


and on that note here are a few polaroids that i have scanned so far from the huge pile... I am only at day 6 out of 32 riding, which puts us at the Oregon Boarder and the town of Astoria...... a very famous town for several reasons but if you don't know, I'm not here to school you.......  but you can get an idea of the amazing eye opening and motivating experience this was. as much as i hate being in the house recovering right now, i think it is good to finally get this book made....

internet relationships.....

with todays technology it is possible to communicate with anyone almost anywhere in the world via the wonderful internet. Myself, i am constantly trying to holler at Austin while she is "studying" in chile for the semester. Through the amazing program skype. one is allowed to not only talk to someone around the world but see a video of that person while talking... here are a few pictures i have taken with my computer to show how amazing this technology is and how thankful i am to not only be able to hear but to see my Bella around the world.....

eric came over to my house the day after surgery and with him brought me a gift..... this drawing! i laughed pretty hard for just having knee surgery and taking about 14 painkillers a day and getting no sleep..... thanks eric!

in case you wonder what my knee actually looks like.......

i painted it. this is way more realistic than a photograph because i cant bend that far to get the good angles and one wouldn't be able to to see all the pain that i am feeling. i dont want to say that i think bad things of people who don't do much, but if you are spending all day looking on the internet instead of being outside active actually living life..... don't hold your breathe for posts after i am healed.........

knee surgery

i got it and everything was fine until the nerve block wore off...... this is the most unreal pain i have ever felt in my life..... even worse than when i blew it up...... this shit sucks.......whale cock! the biggest penis to ever inhabit the earth.

FINALLY!!!!!!!

so i finally got a scanner and have started to scan the film from the epic pacific coast ride....... also i have found on my hard drive, some of the polaroid scans that i did when i first got back but i think they suck male reproductive organs.... but good enough for a little tease i think..... so with no more wah........ the pacific coast.

2 months early but merry jesus day to me!!!

so, i havent posted anything in a long time because i have been trying for the last month to get knee surgery. sorry to make such a serious post for the first one back but such is life..... i have been working on some, tons, of new shit i just dont have a scanner so it is hard to get it to internet..... i will update soon, oh yeah, the 2 months early thing, i get acl reconstruction surgery on the 14 of october... i know that is 11 days longer than 2 months but that is just too many words..... i could just say 70 something days but nah.......
